Fantastic Law firm based in North London are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary or Private Client Assistant to join their growing team, we are looking for someone who has a minimum of 2 years recent experience working for a busy Private Client Solicitor or Partner. This is not an audio typing role, you will be hands on, you must be able to draft a simple will and lasting power of attorney.
You will be carrying out the following:
Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection applications, and probate and estate administration
Preparing property transfer documents and applications to the Land Registry
Attending upon clients in person to discuss their matters and take instructions
Speaking to and corresponding with clients by letter and by email
Speaking to and corresponding with HMRC, Court of Protection, Office of the Public Guardian, Probate Registry, asset holding companies and other relevant bodies
Archiving files when they are completed
Managing solicitor’s diary
Preparing quotes for new work
Preparing bills and costs
Other responsibilities and duties
Looking at the post each morning and making sure they are scanned correctly
Dealing with calls and enquires regarding matters
Make a note of tasks and deadlines and draw to the solicitor’s attention any tasks that are not carried out within the specified time
Making sure files are conducted in accordance with adopted Practise Management Standards
Review files in accordance with the file review policy and procedure.
Recording your chargeable and non-chargeable time.

Qualifications and Skill
Minimum two years’ proven experience in drafting wills, lasting powers of attorney and probate administration.
Proficient in using data base and software packages an advantage.
Relevant ILEX or similar qualification an advantage
Salary is up to £30k p.a. depending on your level of experience!
Full-time hours 9:15am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday
